Having completed a little over 3 and a half years in college and about 2 years living on my own, I’ve come to find a huge appreciation for pasta. Pasta has been breakfast, lunch, and dinner many days throughout my college career. I can’t say I’m proud, but it’s true.
To compliment my excellent pasta making skills, I decided to take on the venture of learning to make meatballs. However, as I’ve said before I don’t eat red meat, it’s just not for me. So, I made my first ever turkey meatballs.
My mom and I made this together and worked to create our own recipe out of a few different ones we had in the recipe cabinet. By combining these recipes, we created some really tasty meatballs we turned into meatball parmesan sandwiches and spaghetti and meatball dinners. The recipe created about 25 meatballs that lasted all week.
1/4 c milk
1/2 c breadcrumbs
1 lb turkey meat
1 small white onion
1/2 tablespoon worcestershire
1 tablespoon parsley
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1. Combine all ingredients and stir until completely blended.
2. Form 1 inch meatballs and place about half an inch apart on a cookie sheet.
3. At 400 degrees, cook meatballs about 45 minutes, rotating the meatballs half way through cooking time.
*Optional: For turkey meatball parmesan sandwiches, place 4-5 meatballs on a sub roll with tomato sauce of choice and top with mozzarella cheese. Put back in the oven for about ten minutes, until cheese is golden brown.
